Annual Fundraiser, 2019
On October 17, The Einstein Method (TEM) hosted a fundraiser, ‘An Evening with Einstein’. Paddy Lynch graciously allowed the use of his home, the former Kresge Mansion in Detroit’s Arden Park-East Boston Edison District, for this inaugural event. Over 140 people attended and enjoyed great conversation while taking in the ambience of this beautiful piece of Detroit’s architectural history.
Small bites were provided by Green Dot Stables and Johnny Noodle King. Beverages were donated by AFB Hospitality, Market Fresh, Eric Mueller, and Powers Distributing, and last but certainly not least, donuts by Yellow Light on this crisp fall evening.
Allen Einstein, Executive Director and founder of TEM, was introduced by Jason Clinkscale, Principal of Berkshire Middle School and member of TEM’s Board of Directors. Prior to hearing Allen speak about motivation for TEM, the attendees also heard touching testimonials about the success of the program from Michelle Hall, Principal of Pasteur Elementary, Alex Lauer, former student of Allen’s and member of TEM’s Board of Directors, and Karen Boyk, co-presenter with Allen at the TEM professional development workshops.
Thanks to the generosity of the many sponsors, donors, and attendees over $40,000 was raised. These funds will be used to offset the expense of providing hands-on training and workshops to educators, especially those which serve at-risk and underserved students, at minimal cost to the schools. A very successful event indeed!
